1 Year Dean's Scholarship FAQs
- How do I get the scholarship money?
- How does the University's billing system work?
- Can the scholarship be extended past one year?
How do I get the scholarship money? Once you are registered for 12 credits, the scholarship will credit to your account. Wait-listed classes don't count, so be sure to register for at least 12 credits at Orientation. Also, you must carry at least 12 credits through the add/drop period-the first two weeks of classes-for both the fall and spring semesters.
How does the University's billing system work? All charges and credits go through the student's account. It's like a credit card statement, with charges and credits both listed. If there is a positive balance (likely only if you have numerous outside scholarships), a check is generated; if there is a negative one, the statement serves as a bill.
Can the scholarship be extended past one year? Unfortunately, the one-year Dean's scholarship is limited to two semesters only. However, many colleges and departments have departmental scholarships for which you may apply. Check with the advising office of your college during the spring semester to see if you are eligible for a departmental scholarship.
