Application Process: Important Dates to Remember
January 1
- First day the FAFSA is available to submit to the processor for the upcoming academic year. Tax information should be estimated based on the previous tax year, W2, or last pay stub.
- Apply online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
February 15
- Priority consideration for University of Maryland financial aid. FAFSA forms must be received by this date in order to be considered for priority aid.
March
- Look for your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Federal Student Aid Programs.
- University of Maryland receives electronic version of SAR during second week of March.
- Students selected for verification will be informed in writing the exact documentation needed to verify and determine financial need.
April
- Notification of Awards will be mailed to incoming freshmen who meet priority consideration deadline. Please return the Award Letter by May 1.
May
- Notification of Awards will be mailed to Graduate Students.
