Job Description: 
Purpose of Job:
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Information Technology Division (ITD), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary program assistant and key scheduler for all response and disaster recovery activities.

Description of Duties:
Serves as the primary program assistant and key scheduler to the CIO/Director and Deputy Director/Deputy CIO. As primary scheduler, must be able to coordinate multiple calendars including disaster activities. Responsible for the coordination of a range of information and contacts to help promote the Division's initiatives and to administer various disaster projects and plans to ensure deadlines. Proficient in the use of electronic systems such as the automated action tracking system and calendar system. Incumbent provides assistance to OCIO staff and performs a variety of disaster, analytical and technical duties/responsibilities in support of the CIO/Director with the intent of accomplishing the program administrative requirements of the Division to which assigned. Tracks all tasks and action-items, procurement documents and correspondence entering and leaving the OCIO using the automated, electronic tracking system. Responds to inquiries, coordinates input for OCIO's data calls, and information technology action items. Participates in conferences and meetings for the purpose of summarizing goals and objectives, and keeping abreast of important development within the office. Arranges travel and prepares all travel related documents and manages the calendars for the CIO Director, Deputy CIO Deputy Director, Executive Officer and staff. Arranges conferences and meetings, assuring that adequate space is available, participants are notified, and the necessary materials are coordinated and provided to senior management officials.

Qualifications:  The Work Study participant must be either a college/university junior or senior and must have at least a 3.2 Grade Point Average.
