Approximately 24,000 students receive financial aid at the University of Maryland. We realize that for many financial aid programs, the process may seem complex. Our office, however, is committed to making the financial aid process as easy as possible. We work hard to process student financial aid in an efficient manner, adhere to all federal regulations, and help students to receive the maximum amount of aid for which they are eligible. We have a dedicated staff ready to assist students with any questions they may have. Moreover, professional financial aid counselors are available to meet with students at any time during normal business hours.

We have made a strong commitment to using the latest technology to facilitate the student aid process. Our web site contains extensive information about applying for aid and scholarships, and includes both financial aid forms and individual student data. Award information is also available online, allowing students to view, accept/decline, and submit award letters electronically.

In addition, we are proud to serve the community in a variety of ways. Our counselors give presentations to local high schools and organizations, helping students and parents to prepare for the financial obligations of attending college. We also provide liaisons to individual colleges within the university so that each school has a specific contact to address concerns and give suggestions regarding the best ways to assist their students.
